Video killed it for me. I had enjoyed the music when Kanye released the song on his twitter. It was in my gym mix if I ever took my unfit ass back to the gym.

But now...I hate it. The video did plenty for me. It absolutely made the song dead to me, like the dead chicks in the video. And like the dead chicks in the video, the video is unmoving. My life was not enriched having watched this video.

None of the music artists in there showed anything visually stimulating. Stick to aural pleasuring, please. So many people are praising Kanye for yet another brilliant video. Maybe it's me. Maybe I just don't get it. I don't see anything awesome about this video or most of his "art" videos. I'm bored yet again. Perhaps I take things too literally. I expected to see monsters. Throwing in Cookie Monster eating Elmo's cotton guts would've satisfied me at this point. It was just morbid. I saw no monsters. I saw one bearded lady...o0o0o0 sooo scary...PSSSSSH I paid a quarter to see a bearded lady at a street fair when I was in the 6th grade and I wasn't impressed then. I'm definitely not impressed now. The only thing that made me do a double take was when chick slapped her vag. I'm like What? Shrug...Moving on

Mini EXCITING Update!!!

Hey all! It's been awhile again...just a little update

Today marks 6 MONTHS for my sweetheart and me =) I got us a little something...shhhhhh it's super cute, I swear...I'll post pics after I give him his half =)

I can hardly wait to see him...He's been sick so I haven't spent time with him for awhile...I miss him..but hopefully I should see him soon and celebrate 6 months of love =)

AND...

I started my NEW JOB today!!!


There are a lot of new things I need to learn...I didn't absorb all of it but I have the rest of the week for training before I take over the position of the girl who's leaving at the end of the week...I'm a little nervous because normally, new hires in that department shadow different people for a month...I have ONE WEEK. I should've taken notes when the person training me was talking but she talks a mile a minute using abbreviations! I didn't even know WHAT to write down. But she did let me try out some stuff and I got to initial stuff (that felt oddly good). Hopefully I'll pick up stuff easily and quickly. Navigating the office will be an adventure in itself, too. SO MANY CUBICLES!!!

*HIGHLIGHTS* - Willow Smith: Whip My Hair

I can always count on fellow bloggers for news and new stuff...Thank you Necole Bitchie for this one

Someone is always commenting on Willow Smith's hair. (You know Willow...Will Smith and Jada Pinkett's daughter.) She has been showing up around town (wherever town is for her jet-setting self...) and on red carpets with some new hair style or other. Would I ever do any of that to my own hair? No. Mostly because I'm too old and non-famous for them. Hahaha



But it looks like Willow can put her hair press (lol corny pun) to good use. It's not a classic per se but I think it's a fun song we can all prance around to. Ah...I can just see the homemade youtube vids now...

This video leaked awhile ago...That's how hot this man is in the R&B game. Only the music from people that are relevant ever leak, and with the music game so alive, music leaks all the time. But to have a music video leak is definitely a testament to how coveted even the IMAGE of the artist is to the masses. And oooooh boy, how I LOVE to look at this man!

But all silliness aside, plenty of people can identify with the song and the video, even though it seems to be more on the artsy side, conveys the emotions in the lyrics and his voice very well.

Kanye woke up this morning and decided to stir up the still sleepy and hungover tweeting masses (I was on my way to work)...

He either had a lot on his mind or wanted to use his infamous lack of mental filter create some hype for his new song. But no matter, let's take a look at what he had to say:

I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her

She had nothing to do with my issues with award shows. She had no idea what hit her. She's justa lil girl with dreams like the rest of us.

She deserves the apology more than anyone. Thank you Biz Stone and Evan Williams for creating a platform where we can communicate directly

We're both artist and the media and managers are trying to get between us. Everyone wants to capitalize off this is some way

With new found humility ... who am I to run on stage? I would never ever again in a million years do that. Sorry to let you down.

It is distasteful to cut people off as a general rule. What's the point of dressing tastefully if I'm going to act the complete opposite?

When I woke up from the crazy nightmare I looked in the mirror and said GROW UP KANYE ... I take the responsibility for my actions

I am not a bad person. Even in that moment I was only trying to do good but people don't always need my help.

Beyonce didn't need that. MTV didn't need that and Taylor and her family friends and fans definitely didn't want or need that.

These aren't regular tweets... this is stream of consciousness ... I want you guys to know and feel where my head is at...

It feels like the movie Heat when you wanted Deniro to make it... You want the bad guy to make it.

These tweets have no manager, no publicist , no grammar checking... this is raw

Humanity and Empathy are 2 of the 4 principles at facebook. Those were the 2 principles I was missing on that evening

Why are there so many tweets? Well this isn't a simple subject. There are layers to this beyond me running on stage.

You've got the top layer... Kanye's rude!

If I speak in 3rd person it's because I'm quoting people sometimes I forget to put the quotations you know my grammar.. #ITSAPROCESS

You've got a layer of order... this is how things are spose to go this is how it's always been etc.

You've got a layer of... What is reality? You really want this guy to die over an award show???!! wooooooow .....

You've got the Media play... Who benefitted off of the moment?

MTV? JAY LENO? BEYONCE? ALL FORMS OF MEDIA? TAYLOR? KANYE WEST? Who gained? Who lost?

Walk with me people... let's break this down for real now. I might get in trouble again lol?

WHO BENEFITED FOR REAL PEOPLE???!!!!!!!!

A year later where do we stand?

There's a layer of... hey Kanye said what I was thinking

There's a layer of... Entertainment... we are entertainers and this is only TV... not the War

Why was it made into such a race issue. Taylor loves rap music... I love country music.

TAYLOR LOVES RAP MUSIC... I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC

When I right songs like Heartless I always say "is this melody good enough to be a country song or a broadway song?"

I've hurt, I've bled, I've learned. I only want to do good. I am passionate I am human I am real. I wish I could meet every hater

I wish I could talk to every hater face to face and change there a opinion of me one conversation at a time.

I wish they all knew how much I really cared about music and pop culture and art and peoples feelings.

I wish they could accept that I've grown and only want to do good for the world. I want to help as many people as I can.

I want to help starting with the music and ending with the smile.

I want to win there hearts back so I can continue to bring my take on culture to the masses with a clean opinion.

Hmm...pretty interesting. Halfway poetic despite the typos and grammatical mistakes (he did say to overlook those, #itsaprocess). I particularly enjoyed the irony of the George Bush and white girl comment. The apology seems very genuine...or at least especially effective when he left it as the last tweet (twitter uses a larger font to highlight the most recent posts).



One might think, "why an apology NOW after so long?" Perhaps he's trying to get invited to award shows again (or at least not left out) and to get people back on his bandwagon when his new album drops. But that's cynical. Maybe he's just using Twitter as a "raw" platform as many artists do as their voice in a mess of mass media. He's had time to think about it. The immediate quiet after the storm is the most resounding, and he's putting his words in when people least expect his noise. Far be it for him to not shock people. It's a pretty good read if not anything else. Sure made my commute to work interesting as if a Saturday morning subway ride isn't eventful enough. What do you think?

So let's talk about T.I. and his f*ckery (c'mon, son!), "Pretty Boy" (yuck) Lloyd and his (lack of) hair, Willie from Day26 (sexy) and his horrendous math (doh!), and a football star player who was bored and messed around with his own sister (barf)

First up: T.I.

Did this guy not JUST GET OUT OF PRISON???

And I'm with 50 on this one...Tiny, you gotta help ya man out here. You're not really pulling in new money. Your income is from royalties on things you did YEARS ago and from that reality show that SUCKED. T.I. brings home the shiny brand spanking new money and I'm sure he has projects lined up. Your record is probably clean (or cleaner than your hubby's at the very least). Just like in T.I.'s new movie, Takers, he can't go back this soon.

But on another point though, T.I. is an idiot for this. He better have a DAMN good explanation for having that crap in his car. I mean...C'MON, SON!!! Really? A man of your status is messing with METH and X?! METH?!?!!? Low class, my dude. Low class

Ok Second thing: Lloyd and his hair

R&B singer Lloyd cut off his signature "long hair don't care" for a good cause because it does seem he cares! I did Locks of Love a few years ago and they sent me a nice little certificate for my donation! It's pretty cool of him to make his donation. He's still not attractive to me and I still don't enjoy his music, but I'm glad he's bringing some attention to the cause. It's quite a bit he donated!






















Third thing: Willie's grammar and math

It's not really NEWS but it really irked me when I saw this on Twitter yesterday.



It's really obnoxious. Ok fine. You're a celeb. You BALL HARD. But come on! I'm going to let the grammar and spelling slide for now because it is after all just Twitter. But the math...ARGH!!! I don't even KNOW how he got his final total for his yearly expenditures for undershirts. If that's his real math skills, yuck. If he jacked up the numbers to look better, yuck. SMH. Just stick to singing half naked. Don't try your hand at accounting or PR. But I'm just being silly.

And lastly: The Sad and Gross story of Tony Washington

Basically, he and his sister sexed it up once or twice. He ended up getting arrested for incest. He's now a registered sex offender. But because it's a SPECIAL kind of sex offender, he's black listed in the NFL even though he would have been a STAR to bank on. No. Rapists and molesters are the okay kind of sex offender. But someone who made a bad (consensual) mistake while still a minor, not the okay kind. I mean yes, it's gross what he and his sister did but I feel bad for the guy. He worked hard to try to be better than his situation. That lapse in judgment really wasn't anything worth more than a funny look and then you move on from it. Read his story and decide for yourself. Warning: The writing is horrendous. It looks like multiple segments of fluff pieces shot up with commas thrown onto a page and calling it an article. It was frustrating to read. Maybe you'll have a better experience with it. Great photos though!

AND OH YES! I can't wait for September 14, 2010!!!



I am SO excited for this album to drop!!! Two singles have already dropped... Bottoms Up feat. Nicki Minaj and Can't Be Friends. By the way, the video for Can't Be Friends leaked. Trey Songz is so hot, his VIDEOS leak. CRAZY!

yoooo hellooooo!!!

Okay...it seems us "being back" means easy goings too..hahahaha

Alright...well since work is more or less over with until next week, I should be updating. I make a lot of empty offhand promises when it comes to stuff like this but I really would love to post some movie reviews and tech stuff and news story things that I find interesting

Sooo just a little about my summer and stuff to hold u over til I post again...which might be in the next 15 minutes or 15 days ahahahah


Spent the summer working from 8am-6pm...or those are the hours I was paid for. I was usually there a few minutes early and left quite a few minutes later. The burdens of having the keys to the office...love the trust the boss has in me...but alas...what did Uncle Ben (Spidey's uncle..not the instant rice guy) say? "With great power comes great responsibility." Who am I to complain, really...it's money money money! WOOH! 50 hour work weeks. Not terrible. Just wished it was off the books. Forget Uncle Ben...Uncle SAM took a GIANT chunk of my paycheck every time!!! Who got kids they can lend me to claim as dependents?

Spent some time with the boyfriend whenever I can. But he got sick and then I got sick so we went almost a whole month apart. But we still talked (read: IM'd and texted) everyday so we're good. Surprising to many of my friends, we haven't...shaboinked...yet. I'm ok with it and he gave me good reasons to wait but I seem to be the Grabby McGroper of the two...hahahah :::eyebrow wiggle:::

What else...AH yes...I turned a quarter century. I partied it up last year when I turned two dozen. What did I do for my quarter century? Low-key'd it. Picnic at Central Park with games and awesome junk food...dinner and drinks (and a night of fending off creepy guys who accused me of not liking black guys...for real, son?) with friends...and a walk by the water with my boyfriend who wrote me the sweetest note ever :::warm and fuzzy feeling:::

Now...work is done. Just some minor subbing work for work. SOOOO...If anyone knows ANYTHING...HOLLA AT YA GIRL!!! cuz ya girl's got too many bills =( TOO MANY!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH

*Highlights* - Are You READY?!

Five of the seventeen tracks have already been released either on the radio or his free download-only album, Anticipation, that I previously reviewed. LOL ;) was leaked but it seems to be a hit on the radio despite foiled plans of marketing the song! Definitely a great follow up to In Ya Phone. Both are ringtone and summer ready. The other 12 little snippets are emotional and mental teases. SWOON worthy from every angle whether you're looking for the sexy player that wants to put it on you or for the sensitive lover that appreciates and misses every part of who you are. Swoon? Yes. Definitely swoon.

Even without me fawning over him 24/7, Trey Songz proves himself again and again to everyone that he is a great singer songwriter. There is no need for the slash because he not either or, rather he is both. He displays on this album immense maturity in both arenas. You also get to experience both tried & true, seasoned producers and up and coming younger producers that all come to the table with a touch of the classics and an arsenal of fresh new sounds for a marriage of audio pleasures that titillate both the fans and the general market. You should definitely check out his album which is out a day earlier than planned to make the Grammy nomination deadline. I forsee a golden phonograph on his mantel very soon.

People have gotten off easier for more. LOTS of people are outraged at this heavy sentence. I'm also not so sure 20 months is the answer...

AND...for you travelers... We all know about the SUPER DUPER FAST bullet train in Shanghai that runs...ONLY in Shanghai. It's so expensive that locals generally don't use it to get themselves to the airport. Only gung-ho foreign travelers like me take it. The only reason the Chinese government keeps it running is to show everyone else their accomplishment. Well NOW there is one that is more practical and probably just as fast. This one takes you between SHANGHAI and BEIJING. Lots of business people and the ilk would find great use out of this one. This 220 mi/hr bullet train is the newest show-off project. Can't wait!

SUMMER IS DONE!!!

Ah yes...Summer school has LET OUT!!!

What does that mean? Mad scramble for a real job. EEP! Holla atcha girl if you know ANYTHING in the NYC area =) Thanks for lookin out!

I'm a free agent!!! But bills are piling up. You know how it is. Will work to get out of the house.

Siigh but yea. Summer is done. I've more or less taught a whole year's curriculum in 6 weeks. 6 weeks. 33 days. So we didn't do a LOT of reinforcing of the information and I couldn't help every child individually but I think I covered a lot and they learned a lot considering the time constraint. I wonder how it is possible that teachers have 6 times as much time with these kids and most don't seem to be doing THAT much more than what I have with them!

AGHHHHHHH what's going ON?!

I'm no expert, obviously. But I've spoken to the licensed public school teachers that teach with me at the tutoring center and I've spoken to my boss who has seen a decade's worth of kids come and go at her company. The kids seem to start at lower and lower reading and math levels. The kids seem increasingly less able to do any critical thinking. Don't get me wrong. It's not like bright kids aren't still out there. They blow us away and blow the rest of the class out of the water. But they are so few and far in between.

It seems old school methods and curricula worked. Then for whatever reasons (I can take a stab at a few but I won't) the school system decides that we need to have one big ol' cookie cutter method that aims at personalizing education to each child. But in the end, children get lost in the shuffle because a teacher can only do so much for each individual child one at a time. It's a good theory. But like communism, just doesn't work so well in reality.

All this griping about the underachieving kids being lost in the shuffle, but what about the kids that are at the tops of the class? Does anyone really pay attention to them anymore? Take a look at this vid my best friend made at work:

Not to pat myself on the back, but I was one of those kids. I didn't always feel like I was being held back because my mom always pushed me to my limits with outside tutoring that taught way beyond the regular school curriculum. But there were many times in elementary and middle school where I felt the homework and classwork (at least for math) was SO mundane and frustratingly slow.

That was then. It seems it's worse now. What can we do to promote and provide top notch education for EVERYONE in the class?

Miley Cyrus is a Bitch

Disney = Wholesome. For the most part, who would disagree?

I mean yes, the acting is disgustingly over the top terrible. Not just over the top, but over the top terrible. And disgustingly so. However, over the top was what kids respond to. Kids need to be overstimulated in order to elicit a response from them. But, no matter the quality of acting, they seem to get across these mini-lessons about being socially responsible. So overall, kids shows are wholesome.

The kids themselves though. The actors. The terrible terrible actors. Apparently they use that bad acting to thinly veil their naughtiness and idiocy behind the camera. Or in Miley Cyrus' case, in front of a camera, too. I guess the earlier you start off as an actor in front of the camera, the sooner you shit over your career behind it. Except, nothing seems to touch Miley Cyrus. She can pose half nude with her dad and she's still allowed to globally influence children. She can have an exposed underage teenage boob and her career is still going strong. She can offend 4 BILLION people, 60% OF THE WORLD, and she can still renew her show's contract, sell out concerts, and make a mean buck off of merchandising. WTF

I'm sure you've already heard about her CHINK pic scandal back in February of this year. Time heals most wounds. This one, I'm still steaming about. I still hate that she exists. If you don't know yet, Miley Cyrus took a picture with a bunch of her male friends. No, that's not the scandalous part. All of the non-Asian people in the picture, including the superstar, are all either squinting or pulling their eyes back. The lone Asian in the group (probably safe to say that he's the token) is straining to open his eyes wider than is natural for him. The ignorance. SMH

Then a LOOOOONG time passed with many people in an uproar before she attempted at an apology on her blog on her fansite that people have to PAY $30/month for to access. She said:

I've also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! [So now 4 billion people have goofy faces. Look at your teeth.] Well, I'm sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context! [Those people? What do you mean THOSE people?! I don't think there was a context where that could have been right.] In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! [Then what were you doing?] I was simply making a goofy face. [You were simply being a bitch.] When did that become newsworthy? [When you became a role model to young kids that don't know any better than to condemn you.] It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. [It's all your own doing. 4 billion people were offended.] If that would of [sic] been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! [No it wouldn't have.] I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'BAD GIRL'! [No. You're just a stupid bitch.] I feel like now that Britney is back on top of her game again, they need someone to pick on! [This has nothing to do with Britney. Again, all your own doing.] Lucky me! haha [This is funny to you?] Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know what is on my heart. [Which would be no remorse, it seems] You guys know me and have been by my side every step of the way! [And now people should be extremely disappointed.] You guys know my heart and know the most important things to me are my friends, family, fans, and GOD! [They have nothing to do with this other than not stopping you from being a dumbass.] In NO WAY do I want to disappoint any of you! [But it happened nonetheless, didn't it?] But, when I have made mistakes in the past, I feel like I've owned up to them and apologized. [So why aren't you doing that now?] I really wish everyone would stop focusing on my personal life and get back to focusing on what I love! [You're in the limelight. You have no personal life. You made a movie about that.] Music and Acting! [You're not very good doing either and I don't know why you are this big.] Hopefully, I will be touring again this fall! [You will. You are untouchable. Untouchable bitch.] Yayy! =] [Yes. Smiley face. Dismiss the matter at hand.] It will be a nice change to be back out on the road again! [It would be a better change if you actually apologized. Empathy would do you some good, too.]

WHERE do I even start?!?! That wasn't an apology at all. So I guess people were hating on her for THAT so she put this out on the fansite:

You know, that's STILL not a real apology. She's sorry IF the photo offended anyone?! IF?!??!!? She's not really sorry if she hasn't accepted the fact that people were indeed very offended. And she just excused herself of any wrongdoing because God planned it for her. Now, who can argue with GOD?!

Back in my day...

Crap.

So my oldest little cousin's 16th birthday is coming up. I have NO idea what to do for her or what she wants. So I ended up asking one of the TAs at work who is also 16. "So what do 16 year olds like these days?" DAMNIT I can't believe I had to ask that.


So what DO 16 year olds like? I mean, she's not old enough to enjoy the dranky dranks or the smokey smokes with me. She's too old to go on a Claire's shopping spree with her little sisters. I'm not ballin enough [read at all] to treat her to a day at the spa (mostly because the other girls and women would want to do it too). I don't like or know her friends to take then ALL out. SIIIGH what to do..what to do? BBQ at the beach? I dunno, I dunno. WHAT DO 16 YEAR OLDS LIKE?!?!

Damn. I'm gettin old. So, tell me, young people. What's hot? What's good? What's poppin'?

My special treat for my own 16th birthday was having MORE family out and taking up TWO tables at our usual Chinese restaurant. That's it. Good food. But it wasn't a big party or anything like some of my friends had (one. I was invited to one sweet 16.). Birthdays have generally been a family thing.

This year though, I hit the big two dozen. So I went a little wilder with one of my best friends who is also a July baby. We went to a drag show dinner with close friends and partied it up at lounges and clubs. I had my tiny tiara and sexy heels. I got a big dick pearl necklace balloon man. It was glorious.

The big quarter century party will be a big one, too, I hope!

My Turn to Sin...???

Ok so Atlantic City isn't as glam or debaucherous as Vegas, the ultimate City of Sin...But it's where people in the North East go on weekends to be bad and blow some cash on a little bit of chance.

I guess it's MY turn to be bad...I was in AC on from Friday to Sunday. And let me tell you...


Absolutely nothing bad happened except for getting carsick on the way down. I hate traffic. I hate it even more when people that think they can weave start weaving when in fact they suck at it. And to add to it, the driver keeps flirting with me even though I'm in the backseat forcing myself to sleep.

I was down at AC for a convention for the company that I work part-time for. It's a really big event with about 20,000 people in attendance. It was packed Friday evening and it was a MADHOUSE on Saturday as everyone was at the doors at least 3 hours early (read 6AM) to get good seats. My god. Some of these teams were HUGE!!! Like a few hundred deep! Those are the big money maker teams and very naturally extra gung-ho about being there. The team I'm on is much smaller. Maybe 40 people in attendance. We were pretty excited to be there. I think we were mostly feeding off of the general energy in the convention hall. Even so, I could NOT stay awake for the life of me. Speakers were blaring. 6 jumbo screens were flashing. People were whoopin and hollerin. I'm knocked the F out in my seat. SMH

Lunch break rolled around and I made the decision to skip out on the second half of the day because I wanted to hangout with the family I have in AC and the original plan was to leave for NYC that day with the same ride. But right before lunch, my ride motioned to me asking if I wanted to go eat with him. But UGH. I was cranky because I was tired and the face he made when me tapped me awake was damn disgusting to me. I don't want to explain it because that would require me to do a play by play total recall of that ughtastic expression. SHUDDER. So I decided AGAINST eating lunch with him. (I don't want to throw up a $20 lunch. So expensive to eat there. That's another difference between AC and Vegas, I heard.) I walked all the way back to my uncle's house. Had a good hearty FREE lunch. My aunt convinced me to stay another night so I decided to go back and attend the second half of the day. I was more awake this time and definitely got more out of it. It was fun! I felt a little more motivated to be a money maker.

Overall though, the company seemed even MORE cult-ish after the convention. They're really big on praise which is great because how often do you get to work at a company that praises you for accomplishing anything, let alone the littlest thing like getting the required licensing to even start making money. Maybe it was the filter and the zoom on the cameras they used there. It made the broadcast look like the sermons we see on TV on Sunday mornings and late at night. I'm not too keen on religion so it just weirded me out a little.

Anyway, after the convention was over, I went shopping with three of my four cousins that live in AC. (They ditched the youngest one when they met up with me! So mean!) They cleaned me out! Granted I only brought a hundred dollars with me and I gambled $5 on the Roulette table the night before. Hahaha We had fun though. I got them some clothes and I made it up to the littlest one when we all went to the Pier after dinner and let him pick out some gummi candies at the Sugar store. They're so cute sometimes. Hahaha

Went to my uncle's new house the next morning and paid my respects to my grandpa at the altar. Ate an early lunch and got on the bus to come back to NYC. I had a 3 hour chat with the older Jamaican man next to me. Very interesting life. Trevor David. If anyone knows about him, let me know. He has some incredible stories about his life and his family. Just wondering if it's all true (the NYer in me will always initially doubt people). It doesn't matter too much either way. It was a fun chat so the ride was very bearable.

That was my weekend in AC. The debauchery didn't even happen until Sunday night in Harlem...But that's another story for another day ;)
